They have downloads for most kinds of Linux distributions, which you can find here. There's quite a lot of settings you can adjust to suit your needs too, good stuff. What's great about Minetest, is that even with quite a few mods installed on my rather low-end Intel notebook the performance was really good. Minetest 5.0 also introduces new modding options, renames "subgame" to "game", has automatic jumping and Carpathian map generation. Still, a decent step towards making Minetest a whole lot better.Īctivating downloads mods is quite simple too, on your world list you just need to hit Configure and then enable whatever mods you wish for that particular world: Starting from version 3. The 3.0 version of the mod features more than 50 different mobs. In October 2017, the NPX Team ceased to be active. When testing some out, I had to manually search and install (using the game system above) each one they needed. Adds a host of creatures into your world with new weapons too. Not So Simple Mobs (NSSM) is a Minetest mod created by the NPX team to introduce more complex mobs into the game, for the purpose of increasing the difficulty of playing. This must be installed and running for mobs to work. It does need some improvements though, namely mod packs that depend on others don't seem to get installed with them. Re: Modpack Not so simple mobs 1.1 notsosimplemobs Important info: you should make all sounds mono (not stereo), to play correctly in 3D, right now it plays same for everybody on the server without any distance or direction correction. The API itself is a standalone mod which players can use to add their own mobs to the world through mob-packs. You can find it in-game by hitting the Content tab up top and then tap the Browse online content button to get here: This is actually pretty awesome! Allowing you to browse, download and get playing as easily as possible. IT WORKED with both 5.2 adn 0.4 servers without problems. hi tenplus1 i loaded your mod fork and pufff well. The Mobs Redo API is very stable and mature as. Sure, the mobs created with this using the default parameters may be a bit simple, but there is enough extensibility within the API to give varying character to mobs if one is determined enough to do so. The biggest feature of this release is the "online content repository" which contains games, mods, texture packs and so on. Re: Mod Not So Simple Mobs 3.0 nssm by mcaygerhard Fri 3:22 pm. It was one of the first mods I started using for MeseCraft. Does such a mod even exist yet Note: Repixture has only 5 mobs currently so I dont care if I have to re-implement those 5 mobs. Ideally the mob mod would be in a stable / non-experimental stage as well, so no bugs, please. It's a game engine, that has a basic Minecraft-like package and it's highly configurable with all sorts of entire game packs made for it. A mob mod like Mobs Redo is out of question, it hardcodes way too much. Recommended. For those of you who enjoy sandbox voxel games like Minecraft, check out Minetest which just had a major update.įor those not familiar, Minetest is more than a game. The problem seemed to be caused by mobs continuing to spawn without old mobs disappearing. To summarize, this is a well-rounded and mature mobs API that is easy to use and learn. After about a week in game-time the game got really bogged down, with near 100 CPU usage. The mobs perform well, it might not run on lowest end hardware, but overall, I've never noticed any significant slow downs resulting from this mod that wasn't my own fault for not understanding how to optimize spawns. There are some bugs and quirks with the API that you will encounter, but there are enough options within the API to work around most of these. This with TenPlus1's history of quickly updating bugs and maintaining his repositories really well, makes this an excellent addition to many games and worlds. Re: Mod Not So Simple Mobs 3.0 nssm by TenPlus1 » Fri 7:37 pm Post. The likelihood is that mobsredo is no longer the same beast it was back then - I remember in 2017 several functions that were global got namespaced for example, breaking some of NSSM. Yes, there are newer, more complex, and capable API's for Mobs, but they are not at the level of stability and maturity that Mobs Redo currently has. TenPlus1 Member Posts: 3632 Joined: Mon 1:38 pm In-game: TenPlus1. NSSM 3.0 was first release around November 2016 so is coming up for two years old. The Mobs Redo API is very stable and mature as well. It was one of the first mods I started using for MeseCraft.
